Flappy-Mon is a mashup of Flappy Bird and Pokémon, combining fast-paced flapping action with a light creature collection system.
Start each run by choosing one of the Gen 1 starter Pokémon, then navigate through a side-scrolling gauntlet of pipes using simple one button controls. As you flap your way through, you'll collect eggs of varying rarities, the rarer the egg, the longer it takes to hatch (measured by the number of flaps). Once hatched, the Pokémon inside is permanently added to your starter roster, giving you more options to choose from at the beginning of future runs.
The game features three difficulty settings: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Which adjust the overall speed of the game to match your skill or mood. You can change difficulties between runs for a fresh pacing experience, though it's best to switch after a run ends to ensure everything updates properly.
Controls are simple:
- Space to Flap
- R to Restart (On the Game Over Screen)
Flappy-Mon also includes background music to add to the arcade vibe, though you may notice some occasional skips or bugs during playback.
This is also the first game I've made all the way to a "finished" product, any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
